Coaching FAQ

  • What is the role of a coach in the coaching process?

A coach partners with you to ask powerful questions, challenge assumptions, and guide you toward your goals. Coaching is collaborative, with the coach supporting your journey to maximize potential, not directing it. More of a visual learner? We understand, you can see the difference of coaching, consulting, therapy and mentoring on our resources page.

  • Are your coaches International Coaching Federation (ICF) Certified?

Yes, all our coaches are ICF certified and follow the ICF Code of Ethics and Core Competencies.

  • How often do we meet?

Coaching sessions are typically held once a month, but we can adjust to bi-weekly sessions if needed for more intensive support. Each session lasts between 30-60 minutes, though 60 minutes is ideal for in-depth progress and reflection.

  • When does coaching officially begin?

Coaching starts with your first dedicated coaching session, not during the initial psychometric feedback sessions or the intake process. These preliminary steps are foundational, ensuring that when coaching begins, we’re aligned and fully prepared for growth.

  • How does a typical session go?

We start with a feedback session based on your assessments, which won’t count against your coaching package. Our initial sessions will focus on aligning with your goals and the insights from your intake process with your leader or board member. These early sessions often involve open-ended questions to help your coach understand you as a Mogul client. During the core of each session, we’ll address barriers, celebrate successes, and develop strategies for growth. After each session, you’ll receive a follow-up email with notes, typically within a few hours but always within 24 hours.

  • How is coaching different from consulting, mentoring, or therapy?

Coaching helps you find your own solutions, builds self-awareness, and empowers personal growth. Unlike consulting, where advice is given, coaching helps you develop insights and strategies through guided reflection. For a visual representation of the difference between coaching, consulting, mentoring, and therapy, visit our website in the resources page.

  • What is expected of me during coaching sessions?

Coaching works best when you engage fully, come prepared with goals or topics, and remain open to feedback. Your commitment to honesty, self-reflection, and action between sessions is crucial to achieving results.

  • How many sessions do I need to see results?

The number of sessions varies based on individual goals. Many clients notice shifts within the first few sessions, but sustained growth often requires 6-12 sessions or more for deeper transformation.

  • Is coaching confidential?

Yes, all coaching conversations are confidential. We hold confidentiality as our highest priority and are aligned with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) code of ethics. Your coach will not share details of your sessions without your permission, creating a safe space for open and honest discussion.

  • What happens to the information shared during 360 assessments or feedback sessions?

Feedback from 360 assessments is summarized to maintain confidentiality for all participants. Only themes and insights relevant to your development are shared with you.

  • How do we track progress in coaching?

Progress is tracked through setting and revisiting goals, feedback loops, and regular check-ins on action steps. Many clients also benefit from written reflections and follow-up notes to stay aligned with their development path.

  • What if I don’t see the progress I expected?

Growth can vary, and sometimes shifts take longer than expected. We’ll work together to reassess your goals, adjust strategies, or explore any obstacles. Your openness to the process can significantly impact the outcomes.

  • Can I add extra coaching sessions or assessments?

Yes, additional coaching sessions or assessments, such as the Qualitative 360, MBTI, FIRO-B, and/or TKI can be added based on your needs. Check out our add-ons on our services page for more information.
